Hello comrades....a belated merry christmas and happy new year.
This is my first post in quite a while, my first post for 2009 AND my first on the Model Geek site since I mostly do 1/35th armor on Armorama...

On to the model. It's not exactly to scale nor is it movie accurate(for all die-hard star wars fans)...it was supposed to be a Pit Droid but I had a hard time fabricating the dome-head so for now I fixed a battle droid type head to fill the void. The entire droid is made of styrene, sprue(dark green) and pen tubes(clear part), and the ball joint on the hips are BBs, basically stuff already on my cluttered desk. haha.. It's still unpainted since it has a lot of gaps that need to be filled, but I like it the way it is.

Just tell me what you think...be kind. hahaha

I used this pic as reference:

I might build a whole army of these if I wasn't so lazy. hahaha

Oh, the slight differences between subject and end-product give it personality and flair!

I like it.

You should have another go at the Pit Droid head. Stack 3-4 circles of sheet plastic and glue 'em all together. Take some rod and glue the end of the rod to the center of the stack of disks. When it all dries tight, chuck the rod into a drill press or screwgun chuck, turn it on and work it with nailfiles into shape. When it's the right shape, snap off the rod, add the tube and lens and paint.

Poor mans lathe!

Nice job. It looks really representative of the droid.
Any in process shots? Love to do a build feature of it.

clean, simple... but I know how much work went into it, I'm impressed with the overall symmetry and the knee joints especially.
in-progress shots would be great, as I am in need of scratchbuilt legs for a project and have brain lock on how to begin.

thanks for the comments....sad to say I didn't do any in-prog shots. I was just building it to clear my head of another project that was giving me a head-ache...this took me about five days to buil.. I promise to take progress shots If I ever do make another one.

Looks great! Both the battledroid and the pitdroid are my favorite figures of Starwars. Always wanted one of those...

Well done, esp. your figure posing. Looks natural.
