I'm looking at trying to find a coolbox to put some bottles of water in, for a modern dio.
I can't seem to find any in 1/35th scale so I was going to scratchbuild one.
Any ideas on how to start!!?

If you just want one that is the white styrofoam I'd scratch one out of Bakable clay (sculpy). Befor it was hardened I would stipple it with a wire brush to give it some texture.
You could glue a lot of sheet styrene together to build a block of plastic - then carve that.
How about a piece of dense foam (pink stuff used in insulation).
If you want a more robust type of cooler, more for camping with a lid and all. I would make go the clay route only.
My idea is that clay will allow texture and make rounding the corners a bit easier.

Do you mean something like THIS???
The scales are 1/24 and 1/48, but, some scale conversions (found with a quick search) and printer adjustments will make you one in 1/32-1/35.
Hope I've helped,
Cuhail

I'd just build a box out of some sheet stock. Depending on the material of the cooler the lid can e pretty flat.
