Hello All,
I have bought 2 Calibre 35 Part #35 023 SdKfz 251/21 with MG 151/20 Drilling Conversion for the Tamiya SdKfz 251. The Problem is the Gun Shield is shattered in both kits. I have tried to contact Calibre 35 by email 4 times with no answer. I also tried there USA Distributer. They were helpful but do not carry this item. So they had no parts for this kit. I was told that Aires is the main distributer.

I do not think I could or do I want to try to make one. So what can I do? This really sucks. With no shields the kits are worthless. have other Calibre 35 kits and really like them. But This Makes me Think Twice about buying any more kits from Calibre 35 .

WHAT CAN I DO ?

Norm, in all honesty you may be out of luck here. I may be wrong but I don't think Caliber 35 makes this conversion any longer. The simple reason is it was pretty much made obsolete by both the AFV Club 251/21 and the Dragon kit of the same vehicle. The AFV kit does include both plastic and photo etch gun shields in their kit. You might try putting out a call in the various forums and see if someone who didn't use one or the other would be willing to part with their unused shield.

Personally I'd cut my losses and just pick up one of the above kits and build it. You will probably end up with a more accurate "drilling" in the end. Here are the links to a review of each and a comparison also.

Norman,

I can confirm what Mike (and the reviews) stated; the AFV Club version has both plastic and PE shields. I have this kit in the stash and will build only one version (not sure which quite yet). If you don't pick up a replacement kit, I can probably help you out with a plastic and PE shield (again, not sure the version yet) to replace your broken Calibre parts.

Mike
