So, my grandfather passed away this past november and during christmas i was going through some things and i found a car model kit its a Hot Rod Revell and it is a big box with 3 cars in it, the '54 '55 '57 chevys. My boyfriend thinks that they are worth money and thats why they arent opened out of the plastic. I was really hopeing to build them, but if they are worth anything I wouldnt want to open it and lose its value. If anyone knows please let me know!! thank you !

See if you can find a date any where on the box. have seen this kit before but it has been a while, really depends if it is really old or not.

The 3-car sets are not worth a whole lot. They go for about $30.

They are not that old, from the late '90s probably. The models are still in production as individual kits.

Unfortunately, models are not a great investment. Being wrapped doesn't make a big difference either. There are a few rare, old kits that can bring in some big bucks, but not many.

I would build them and keep them as sometihng special that your late grandfather had.

I would check with some model car experts. They will be able to tell you if they are worth anything. They will need the kit number on the side of the box.

Jenn you seem really into building them so go for it but add a personal touch to them if your grand father had a favorite color paint one of them that color or make the license plate his birthday. just my two cents.

Hi! Revell did at least a couple of these 3 car kits advertised as being released with Hot Rod magazine. The cars are/were considered models of the most true to the genre street rod/hot rod classics. There may have been a third set with Corvettes but I am not 100% certain. I have these two sets in my stash:

HotRod 3 Pack 54, 55, and 57 Chevys, Kit #7447 1/25 scale

HotRod 3 Pack Model A Delivery, Model T Sedan, and 1934 Roadster, Kit #7446 1/25 scale

I paid about $30 - $35 each for them about a year ago.
