Now christmas has gone, what are your new years resolutions to do with modelling?
Mine is to stop buying so many figure kits I bought that many last week i could have gone with a Dragon kit
Let me know!

Mine should be 'build more, post less' but that won't last long.....

That was mine last year. I've built more and posted much less. I used to halt construction until I took photos, uploaded them, post them to forums, write reviews or articles about them, etc.Mine should be 'build more, post less' but that won't last long.....
Rick
Now I start a kit, finish it and put it in the cabinet. I will post a photo if I enter a GB though. I think I finished more kits in 2008 than I did in the last two years combined.
On the flip side, I probably posted fewer messages in all of 2008 than I normally would have posted in one month in 2007 or earlier.
This year's resolution will be to minimize aftermarket additions. I will build more kits straight out-of-box.

1) Increase output
2) Reduce amount of "shelf queens"
3) Less time wasted online ... more on actual modelling
4) Buy less kits
5) Avoid non-modelling related threads that go round-and-round in circles, and end up with nobody being any better off.
These are practically the same resolutions as I have every year ... hopefully some of them come true.

My participation on Armorama was pretty limited in 2008. However, I completed 5 or 6 kits this last year which was great progress for me. My intent for 2008 is the following:
* Submit more content to Armorama
* Post more
* Complete 8 to 10 models
We will see how it goes.
I'm with you Sabot......Anymore, I am mostly interested in building out-of-box. I found that I enjoyed modelling less if I became to obsessed with accuracy. My OOB builds have been my most enjoyable.

To build up a respectable stash and make a better work bench that will catch the peices that are dropped so I can find them and not have to scratch one to finish a model.

I'll go with Frank's since I never seem to keep my own. I tend not to get involved in "philisophical" threads anyway. There are a couple of miniart and masterbox kits that I want but apart from that I'll start building from the stash.

I have promised SWMBO that I will not buy anymore kits except for AM items until I have put a dent in my current number of boxes.

Try to keep my modeling bench somewhat clean and organized. I don't have alot of space and what I do have gets messy really quick.
There are times where I want to model but I don't because the room depresses me.

Agree with Rob also.
Build more out of the box and now with 3 great looking Sherman's that are not started yet will be busy.
No PE for none only whats in the box, well maybe a Barrel if better.
Buy less stuff for the stash.
Learn to make Better bases and Thanks to Frank never again a Plain Jane wood base.
Thanks Frank.

To continue to respond to questions for modeling help by newbies, dispite the fact that a simple search could have found the answer.
I would sometimes blow these questions off as trivial and simple, alas it seemed as though I have forgotten what it was like to be a beginner.
I will try and share my knowledge as others have taken great care in sharing theirs with me.

Hello everyone,
I guess mine are mostly the same as yours. One thing I'm particularly proud of is that I don't have a stash and one of my resolutions is to keep it that way. I'm only gonna buy kits that will be started right away. So I guess for me it's:
1. Finish a kit
2. Finish at least 5 kits this year
3. Stop feeding the carpet monster
4. Get rid of the carpet monster
Happy new year everyone and let's hope that we can keep some of the stuff we intended to!

Ha ha. Thats great!
At first I was wondering how somebody got a picture of my bench!
Although mine wasn't quite that bad it still wasn't very conducive to getting any modelling done.
Thanks!

All great suggestions
Here are my modelling resolutions:
1) Build more
2) Regain the fun of modelling
3) Build more
4) Thin my stash by trading for other kits (hmmm guess that really isn't thinning lol)
5) Continue to enjoy my time here.
Happy New Year and all the best in 2009 everyone!

i'll be intrigued to know how many of us will have huge stashes of unbuilt kits and half finished projects by the end of the year......................
mine would be focus more attention on one project and focus on that until its done, leave all other kits alone, and dont buy anything except things for that project.

Finally after getting a camera and figuring out how to post photo's here, my plan is to do the following.
Review 8 times this year.
Do 2 to 3 build articles.
If I can do the above I think I'll have done well in 2009.
