Hi,

here I was again, I was wondering how to piant certain german camo's; the geran paratrooper camo is very distinctive and so is the mottled SS camo, how does one paint these camo patters? Is there a certain build up as in which camocolours does one use first?
anyone?...thanks!

Hi Invictis. On missing links there is a very good articles page where some well renowned painters have great articles on everything from different camo patterns to leather to face painting. Well worth a visit. Missing links link
If you have an exact refernce, with the tips you will read here, you should be able to paint your preferred camo style, no problem! Good luck!

The patterns are all different, but you have to start with your lightest color with each one. Begin with your lightest color, then progressively lay the pattern on with the darker colors.
All patterns can be seen here.....FJ Jumpsmocks

The first thing I do is paint the dominant base color, then I lay my patterns in from lightest color to darkest ( like was mentioned ). The best advice I can give, is to use good colored uniform reference photo's.
Also Lynn Kesslers new book is a "must have" for beginners ansd veterans alike.

Brent Avant's book from VLS (Letterman publications?) available at www.modelmecca.com

https://www.modelmecca.com/cgi-bin/shop.pl?go=Search&partnumber=LP%20007

details how to paint figures with acryllic paints and gives some description how to use Vallejo apints to good effect as well.
It's about US$17
