Hi!, Guys

I posted this question on A/C talk, and Ghenghis gave me a tip,
but it requires a decal and placed over a piece of foil, I don't have
any decals to do this, I am building a 1/35 scale MRC AH1W Cobra
no problem on making the belt, but man!, the harness is a pain in
you where. Any ideas?????

Use a very thin masking tape as harness.

I have made harness straps from masking tape. I double the tape over and press it flat, then cut thin strips to the length and width required. The buckles were represented with thin wire. I wound it round a thin flat piece of wood and cut it on one side and slid it off. A touch of superglue to hold it in place and then painted the strap. It didn't look as good as the etched brass type but was a big improvement on the moulded seat belts on the kit seat.

I did that too, but still didn't look quite that right, the wire looks round
than flat, but if that's the best then that's what I'll stay with, Thanks
Brandy, ( unless someone else has a better suggestion.)

Hey Prowler,

Any luck with the seat harness issue? Hope you found a good solution. I'd be interested to hear what you went with and how it turned out. Sorry my idea didn't work out for you. Tried to think of an alternative, but haven't come up with anything.

Cheers,
Jason

If you are happy with the belts, maybe you could get some PE harness hardware? Eduard and others sell sets of the just the metal components. You are talking teeny little pieces, I understand why you are frustrated.

I would get some PE parts if you can...

Hi!, Guys, I tried locating the seatbelt harness from, Eduard, Tom's
modelworks, to name a few but in vain, no one has the harness for 1/35
scale models. I tried it with some thin wire, it look somewhat ok.
I am still trying a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Hi Prowler,

Found this on Ebay (not related to seller). It must be an old upgrade because I couldn't find it on the Verlinden site (modelmecca.com), but it appears to be specifically for the MRC AH-1W kit and has cockpit and photoetch. Not sure what is all in the kit, but thought it might be of interest to you.

Thanks GhenghisWong, I just purchased the set, thru ' Buy It Now '.
I figure I'd grab it before somebody else does, you know ,I have about
136 unbuilt models , got em mostly from EBay, I don't know why I didn't
think about em, but that why we have friends like you, ever willing to
be so helpful, in taking up your precious time. Once again I am very
grateful, friend. :-)
