Bent White Metal Parts

It seems inveitable that white long, thin white metal parts such as swords get bent.
Does anyone have a method that straightens out these parts without leaving kinks?
All suggestions are welcome.

I've found it's best to work them SLOWLY back into position either by placing them on a flat mat and using a small plastic hammer to tap them back into place or by gently using your fingers to bring them back, the kinkys and possiabltyof a snap off are caused by the internal temp rising too quick causing them to kink or snap off, [ had a gaming friend who worked on the space shuttle explain it to me] since i started going real slow with them i've had good luck with straighting them.
