For those of you in the Hamilton-Burlington-Oakville area, Hamilton Hobby on Kenilworth Avenue North is closing as soon as the owners can find a buyer for the building. They said that after over 50 years in the hobby business, they are ready to retire.
For the bargain-minded, some kits and paints are on sale.
I started going to this shop in the mid 60s when it was still located on Ottawa Street North and I will miss it immensely.

Great News! Hamilton Hobby Specialties will re-open at 206 Kenilworth Avenue North, Hamilton. The store will open on Friday September 7th, 2012.
Hobbyists can contact them at 905 547 5541, or e-mail at [email protected]. I heard they are also coming out with a website that will have some of their inventory available online, visit them at: www.hamiltonhobbyspecialties.com.
I can't wait to visit their shop, East Hamilton really needed a hobby shop so kudos to the new Hamilton Hobby Specialties!
