Ive finally moved into my (sorry, our) new house and when Ive got a few more jobs out of the way will re-commence modelling once more.
Ive got a few kits lined up namely tamiyas horch and panzerphawagen and italeris flakpanzer ostwind. At present I dont have an airbrush but will be investing over the next couple of months hopefully.
Anyway, my question is that as i will be painting by brush in the meantime what's the general consensus on brush size, paint types, need to thin, after painting requiremensts etc, etc?

AntiTHANKScipation.

Not ignoring your question, but since you intend to airbrush eventually, have you considered spraycan paints in the interim? TamiyaColors are the cat's meow when it comes down to a good basecoat, and even other brands are going to be preferable to a brush. The problem with brushpainting is uneven coverage, brush marks, and the paint piling up around small details. If I HAD to brush paint, I'd use Humbrol enamels (they've a very fine pigment), with enuf thinner to top up the tin, paint the small details(especially recessed areas) first, and fill in the spaces with a larger brush. Rob

Took your advice and got a can of the tamiya gear -worked a treat!
wrt your comment on filling up the tin with thinners I dont quite understand? surely it depends on how full the tin is in the first place - or have I missed the plot as usual?

Cheers
