OK, I have to ask..........what is a "Sock Puppet Free Zone"?

I saw the logo at the bottom of the page and I didn't know what it meant.

Hey Randy. It was something to do with mouthpieces from certain companies spouting their pros and others cons on forums such as this... Bit of a larf as they were a bit transparent methinks...

I think there's a Stryker thread where some of the sock puppets (of sorts) have made an appearance this week. SPs are manufacturer reps who slink onto a site using some average Joe persona and try to develop buzz about their products.

Like, "Hey, I just bought the Fire Lizard's newest Uberpanzer Ausf. E Genius Kit! What a great model, it is the most accurate version of the Uberpanzer to date, you gotta get one!"

I had never given it much thought but I guess it would be very easy for someone to do that. I read the reviews and things like that and I guess I never thought about the fact that someone could be pushing their own product.
