I was just wondering if anybody knows what has happened to Verlinden? It seems that they are becoming unavailable at least here in the US. Squadron and Great Models have not restocked in months, and many pieces that I have been looking for, from their North and South line, along with the Sherman Calliope and Aunt Jemima conversions in 1/48th seem to have been only out for a few weeks before they were gone. So, if anyone knows whats going on or if anyone knows of some store that has this stuff in stock, I would appreciate it.

i have seen quite a few of his completed kits for sale on eBay exclusively (almost) from a particular vendor, 3dverlinden. the same seller seems to have a lot of his products which makes me wonder if he is in collaboration with them.

I don't know about the built stuff but as for the rest ebay seems to be a rather inefficient way to reduce stock, but then again I guess you never know. Either way it seems as though something is going on.

The Hobbitt in Fayettenam, NC, has tons of it. (It's a very good hobby shop) They process telephone orders.
Hmmm...If product languishes on shelves for years, I wonder what that says about it...

i realize you get what you pay for but some products seem to keep getting priced up. I bought the Maus engine/trans kit for under $20.00 and now I see $30.00 as a typical asking price.

My pals who haunted every MasterCon for 5-6 years said there was a falling out between Verlinden and Letterman. I think Letterman bought everything, (?)then sold(?) it to Squadron.

From my perspective they make (made?) some things that no one else would touch. I am very interested in their Civil War artillery and 1/200th scale ironclads, as well as a few armor pieces.

Well I guess that is too bad, especially if it includes the molds. I like squadron, but, when they took over VLS we lost all sorts of interesting figures that VLS made. Squadron, except for thier line of canopies seems uninterested in actually producing models.
