Does anyone know who the top authority or authorities are as far as military model writers are concerned. This person would write articles for various military magazines, reviews new models and is an expert in the industry.
What is the best publication for military modeling?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You're visiting it...
Not being entirely flippant, but everyone has their own ideas as to what consitutes a top-rate writer and also what their respective speciality areas are. Bit like asking how long a piece of thread is i'm afraid.
Regarding publications, once again it's very subjective. (Personally) I find most of the current crop of magazines need a major content/style/design update.
It's a VERY broad question...

John,
That's a question that could have many answers, depending on who replies to your post. Personally, if I'm looking for reviews my first stop is PMMS, followed closely by this site. By the time most magazines publish a review article the kit has been out for a few months at least. For how to articles, my first choice is AFV Modeller, but there are other good ones out there, among them Model Military International. I'll let others chime in with their favorites.

My guess would be Steve Zaloga. He writes modeling articles, military vehicle books for Osprey and also does modeling manuals too. He also moderates the Missing Lynx WW2 Allied modeling forum: http://www.network54.com/Forum/47208/.
He's a recognized expert and master military modeler.

Thanks for the info!
I guess I'm looking for "the person" that seems to stand above and beyond everyone else, and is a true expert in the military modeling field.
I understand a lot of people here know a lot and i appreciate the info!
Thanks!

There is no single person who is the expert on everything, it depends on the subject.
Is it modelling of Swedish armour post WW II or before WW II,
German, modern US, Argentina, Chinese armour, figures et.c. et.c. et.c
I am the one an only expert on how I build my kits but very very few modellers
out there in the world really care about that :-)

Hi John
As someone has said before it's a question like "how long is that piece of string" or how long is "just a moment"
Different people would give you different answers.
Dad (BARV) would say he's wasn't a top expert in modeling but he had a knowledge (and reference library) of modeling and would have given his best to help you answer your question.
At the end of the day it's what infomation is best for you
