Is there any model groups that specialize in transportation type models or HEMTT models?
Being from wisconsin the HEMTT's are made in Oshkosh, just wondering if there are any collectors that specialize in these types of models.
Are there any reviews that review any HEMTT models.
Thanks in advance for any help!

John, I am not aware of any groups that specialize as you ask. To my knowledge, there is only one model company that makes the HEMTT in plastic and that is Italeri. It is an okay kit - they make the basic cargo version and the 998 fueler. Check out my profile and you will see the superdetailed M998 I did. I wrote an article about this build in Military Modelling that I think appeared in the March or April issue. Pro Art makes some nice resin update sets for the HEMTT and Eduard does a PE set or two that helps out as well.
The worst part of the whole Italeri offering is the wheel pattern. Quite awful and are not even worth saving for other projects. A few different aftermarket companies make nice resin replacements, like Pro Art and Real Model.
If you do a search here on this site you probably can find some comments on it. Also, look at Hyperscale as I believe they did reviews on one or both of these kits. Or was it Tracklink?

The HEMTT's are awesome seeing that they can be configured many ways, and have been used by thousands of troops.
I'm sure the members have seen these sites, but want to share information with everyone.

Hi John
My dad (BARV) had plans to do quite a few HEMTT scratch models but unfortunately we lost him last month.
He had the plans in a folder and 3 or 4 kits ready to be converted. I'm sure he would have given you a shout on the subject

Hi Steve,
Sorry for your loss!
The HEMTT is a very unique workhorse for the military.
