Ladies and Gentlemen
I am a lucky man. My SWMBO realized my modeling needs and approved my project of creating a special place. Kind of an out-of-sight-out-of-mind thingie. Anyhou I am now in the process of arranging the workspace in the basement room and am in the need of some good advice.
Here is my basic layout as it is right now:
the wall cabinets are (currently) in the space for legs and will be hanging on the right side wall. The elements will be raised off the ground and the workplate will be installed once I'm happy with the layout.
Spraybooth will be in the opposite corner (not seen) and connected to the air vent.
How did you arrange your work space and what would you have done differently if you could do it all over again?

Have you considered having your airbrush space next to the window, then you might not need a big fan whit an airhose running along the wall. Just pop open the window and out whit the hose ?

I've just a small IKEA table and a small cabinet which i use to store model-stuff. Table is more than half covered with paint botles, tools, etc. I've got only a small working space left
But sufficient.

I subscribe to the chaos theory of model building my room is in total chaos at all times but at least I'm consistent..

When you get it completed you should enter it in the "Build-A-Tool II" campaign. I would think that a new workspace should count as a modeling tool.
Just a suggestion.

Klemen,
I am glad you decided to add your project to the Build-A-Tool II campaign. Don't forget to go over to ModelGeek and enlist in the Build-A-Tool II campaign. That way you will get credit for your entry and earn the ribbon as well.

I have my entire basement to myself.. and I find I'm constantly tweaking it.... I think most people wind up doing that from time to time anyway.

I always find it interesting to see other modellers work areas. Some have really nice set ups.

Hi.
I'd be interested in seeing how this is progressing or the finished product. Any chance of a photo or two?
Cheers

Always good to see other setups. I do not re-organize just add more storage etc. Will have to take time to reorg and properly layout my area in the basement. It is starting to get unmanageable.

I'm having this problem right now, lots of things less space. Did someone have a list of all the things that a modeler need for a good optimized workbench?
