And I thought those menu pictures at McDonald's were like the ultimate form of product embellishment...

I recently saw those in a camping equipment store's ad, and immediately knew what was going on when I read the fine print saying "Picture is a serving suggestion. Lettuce, onions, tomatoes etc. not included".

"etc" here appears to mean "everything else"

Well, that's what ketchup was originally developed for in the fist place. During WW1, something was needed to make the food more edible for soldiers. With a good dose of ketchup, even spoiled, moldy and tainted food tasted ok, sometimes even good.

All of a sudden, my memories of "Ham and Limas" (Ham and Motha's) from the old C rations have become fond! We never gave those to prisoners for fear of being accused of torturing them.....but I can see now that some fool has outdone that entre offering!

Man!!! That is disgusting!!! I think I'd just go hungry or kill something if that's all I had in my pack.
