Hi guys,

I am trying to solder my PE parts together instead of using glue. But because the parts are so small I have a new problem. The moment I heat up the metal, the flux (soldering fluid) starts to boil. Normally no problem but with the small parts the bubbles "launch" my PE parts about a centimeter away.

Is there anybody that can help me to solve the problem?

Regards,

Matthijs

mat you may need to get one of those PE holders to help secure the small parts while you solder. if you cant afford one (because they are fairly expensive!), just use low-tack tape, cut to whatever shape you need. you should be using some sort of magnifier and adequate lighting to ease the strain on your eyes while working on those small parts. HTH!

thanks Mike,

I've tried the tape idea and it works great. No need to buy expensive PE holding equipment

I am half "blind" (-7.5) when it comes to looking in the distance, but for some reason it is great for seeing small objects close to me Maybe not such a good idea when using a hot soldering iron because maybe soon i will not be seeing anything at all anymore
