While stationed with the 1/16th Inf bn in the late 80's. I helped build a diorama of the 1st inf landing at normandy for the bn commander and it was place in the bn headquarters I always have wondered if it made the trip back stateside or was it trashed? and were the 1/16th 1st division is located at now with realignment

The 1st Infantry Division redeployed from Germany a couple years ago and now resides in Fort Riley. You may be able to contact someone who knows something via their website.

I was from 97 to 05
