I just ordered a model kit, a decal, and an accessory from Roll Models, and they said it will be three weeks before the items are ready to ship! I had to order from them, because they're the only ones who carry the decal I need, but if I had known I would have to wait so long I would have ordered something else, from another seller.
I wonder why it takes so long? Do they order the stuff from Asia as soon as they get my order? Has anyone else ever had this problem, ordering from them? I've never ordered from them before, and now that I know how slow they are, I never will again!

Three weeks is just about right from my experience.

Three weeks I think is reasonable if they have the only one of what you want. I have waited almost 11 weeks once.

I live in Canada and when I order something for the states it can take up two months before I get . 3weeks to wait isn't very long at all . And Roll models is an execellent place to do business with .

Wow. I thought three weeks was pretty slow. But I can see that I was wrong.

Well, they state up front on the order sheet that 3 weeks is about norm. I believe they do have a 'right-away' shipping option, but don't know the specs on that. Roll Models has a big menu, good prices and service, and great sales from time to time.
Cheers!

From my experience with them, they won't ship everything you order until it's all in stock If everything you order is in stock, then they ship right away

Three weeks just to ship it? WOW Thanks for letting me know that! Thats terrible! I would be making a call and cancel that order in a quick way! Thats just one more company I know not to ever do business with. I mean if its offered on their website then they should have it not wait till you order then they get up off their seats and order it too. Disgusting

IIRC, Roll uses a just-in time inventory system. Rather than hold large inventory stocks of everything (which can be costly and tie up lots of $$), they will carry items which consistently sell, and order the rest from their distributor. Thus, the wait. The plus side is that they can offer lower prices because they don't have money tied up in non-selling inventory (i.e - all the "dead" stock that most hobby shops seem to have hanging around, unless they drop prices and blow out old inventory on a regular basis).

I've used (and will continue to use) Roll because they have decent pricing. If its an item I need right away, I'll look elsewhere; given that shipping to Canada (as mentioned elsewhere in this thread) usually takes two or three weeks anyways, I would still end up waiting.

Of course, with all the unbuilt stuff I have, I really don't need anything else, anyways....

But my want list...
