If you are one of the 800 or so members of AMPS, this is just a friendly reminder to re-up when you get a chance. There's a new issue of Boresight in the works.

If you aren't yet a member, please consider joining. You can sign up on the web at http://www.amps-armor.org, or join up at the IPMS-USA National next wek. We'll have a couple tables in the vendor room, showing some tank movies and selling mugs and caps.

Members get six issues of Boresight a year. The past two years we have greatly expanded Boresight. If you haven't seen it in a few years, it is much better, with a typical issue now having 32-36 pages instead of 24 in the old days. Most issues have some color pages.

You also get discounts at about 20 model-related firms, so your membership ($25) can pay for itself in a pretty short period. You also get discounted entrance to all AMPS shows. This year, there will be AMPS shows in Connecticut (Sep 08), Atlanta (Feb 09), Richmond (Feb 09), Kansas City (Oct 08) and of course the big international show being held in Havre de Grace, Maryland in April 09.

Finally, you get the satisfaction of knowing you are contributing something back to the hobby community. Be a "good citizen" and give something back to the club that provides so much. Volunteers with AMPS organize shows, provide reviews, put out Boresight, and to date have sent over 1,600 kits and hundreds of supply items to troops serving in Iraq.
