Hi guys,
I would like to know if there is any modelling shop in Harlingen. I would also like to know how strict are the customs when you buy from asian countries (if they always charge you or only if you place a big order, which percentage, etc).
How do you buy over there (shop, mail or web shopping, etc)?
Any modelling club over there?
Thanks in advance,
Angel

As I recall the nearest one is in McAllen TX. I know when we were there Harlingen did not have one and that was 3years ago. we only stayed a week so clubs and such i don't know about... But go see the Iwo memorial and then South Padre Island and fishing off port Isabelle Pier.. My husband was born and raised in Harlingen.

I've never paid customs on anything I've ordered from from overseas but the most I've ordered at any one time is close to $150-200.
Too bad the Commemorative Air Force moved from Harlingen to Midland. You'll have to plan a trip to Austin to see the Texas Military Forces Museum and stop at King's Hobby.
Welcome to Texas.

Hi guys,
Thanks a lot for your help.
I am pretty sure I will have a nice time over there.
I have already lived abroad for a long time: 8 years in Indonesia, 2 in Turkey (I studied at the George C. Marshall High School of the USAAF base), 1 in India and 1 in China.
Have a nice day,
Angel

Models are considered toys and are duty free in the US.
