Hi all.

I didn't know if I am suposing post here or in the diorama forum about this, but here it comes:

I want to scratchbuild a wall in 1 / 35 scale, I haven't scratchbuilt anything before. Is there any required tools to do this? How can I do this? I mean, is it too hard for a first try?

Thanks in advance for a answer.

hi go back to basics first , is it to be built from random stone or brick , is it complete or in ruins or partial ruins , all require different approaches to obtain the best results , so first rule is research , then study others work and lastly try towork out a system that that works for you. after all it is you who has to be pleased with the result , good luck ian

The methods do rely on the type of wall so here are some places to start.
This first one is bases, but turn the end product vertical you have a wall.

If you want indi bricks to build with go here

Here is a really good one to read
https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/70
This one is good all around - material, walls, rubble etc.

Heres a good one for plaster style - this coupled with the first one really come together.

As always- ask all the question you come up with.

As far as tools go - you don't really need anything special - exacto, a pick of some kind, sharpen an old screwdriver if needbe. Imagination is the other thing. Some good wire, bass wood, plaster maybe, kinda depends.

I just made a very nive wall with plaster. I cast a nice slab of plaster - all flat, 2 mm thick - in the top of an icecream box.
Then I took a steel ruler and a knife and started making horizontal grooves at regular interval, separating the horizontal layers of bricks. Then I started to "draw" every individual vertical separation between bricks with the knife. Over 500 bricks, so that kept me busy for a while. But the end result looks really nice. I'll post pictures soon.
