Ahem..... Scam

Would be interested to see where the IP address of that email leads to. I wonder if it is Canada for real. Probably it is more something like sunny Togo, or Nigeria... Or the ever present Abidjan.

Well, the Mounties probably wouldnt, but your consulate definitly would. Thats one of a consulates main jobs....getting distressed travellors home. You have to pay them back after, but they do front you a ticket. Also, western union doesnt really have a presence here. I suspect this scam is like another friend here said, located in sunny Nigeria.

That is such a bad attempt at a scam that it is comical. Thieves steal money from a hotel room but then cut the phone lines? I suppose they cut the phone lines at the library too.

Sounds a lot like the time the "Spanish Lottery" sent a letter here to Belgium informing me i had won the national jackpot of 500,000 Euro...
What will be next?
Pledge 2,500 € to the "Help Guus Hiddink train a national football side that makes it past a semi-final Foundation"
Seriously though, after the government has taxed almost half of what you have earned why would anyone even contemplate on giving the rest away..and to a stranger?

Write back to her and say "Damn, I didnt know hotels in Nigeria cost so much?? You should use your time on the PC more wisely and go to hotels.com or Priceline.com next time! In the mean time, you should start selling a$$ to pay that hotel bill and make use of the room while you have it!!" LOL

This has scam writing all over it . If it was that big of a robber it would have been our news stations here in the great white north . and why would the embassy have her pass port any way ?

Get some tips here:
http://www.419eater.com and get "her" to send you money so that you can wire her some cash!!

The link above shows how to fight back against these scammers and is quite amusing in the process

Just curious...
If I send all the members of Armorama PM that they "have won free model kit of their choice, just send me $5 for shipping", will I make enough to pay off my house?

Cynics! Shame on you all!

I wrote to her and am driving up to personally deliver the money this weekend. But my Rand McNally is off--where in Canada is Abuja?
