Hello all,

Has anyone ever ordered online from Olde Depot Hobbies?
I have ordered a rare PE-set and received a confirmation order.
But 2 weeks later and 2 emails, I still have no answer.

Grtz

Olde Depot is a small family run operation who supports the New England clubs by vending at shows. The operation is definitely legit. Try giving them a call.

I've had really good dealings with them, bought a Verlinden set from them on Ebay , sealed, that had several miscast parts. Easy return/exchange done at the Granitecon.

I've got nothing but good things to say about them

Hello Boudewijn,

I haven't got any reaction what so ever. I asked my creditcard company to withdraw the money. This is not the way I wanna do business.
Fine by me if they wanna do fairs and conventions, but don't sell through internet if don;t have the time to keep things up to date.

Maybe I am a bit spoiled with companies like Mol plastic modelbouw (Ned) and Lucky Model (Jap).

I do not recommend buying with these guys via internet.

Grtz

Hello Patrick

I to received a email confirmation on my order. After days of long distance phone calls, I finally got someone to pick up the phone (978-685-4499 olde depot hobbies) I was told I would get a refund through PayPal on the two models I ordered (Peerless WC-51-52 with cargo trailer) I would get a refund if they were not in stock. Not really satisfied with the conversation. Sounds like they are selling what they don't have. I knew the price of the two models were to good to be true. Lets wait and see if I get my money back.

After two weeks requesting a refund from that busniess (Olde Depot Hobbies) PayPal came through and refunded my money. I'll never deal with that business again. Hope no one else will either. Thanks to PayPal, See ya

They've billed me but sweet f-a has come in the mail. Haven't gotten any reply to emails. From what I read on other forums this is a one man show, and the one man seems to understand email as well as a 1980's grandparent understood an answering machine. Not well.

I cannot stand this type of nonsense. Either run a business, or don't.

I strongly recommend to stay away from this. Even if my stuff does eventually come, and I have no reason to doubt it will. Everyone else on the web seems to get their stuff eventually. It simply is not worth the irritation. It's annoying, annoying, annoying.

Again I repeat, this man does not do his job well at all. Do not buy from his website.

I tried to contact them about a month or so ago to find out if a CH kit was in stock before I ordered it. No email reply. Then another attempt with the same results. Then two phone calls that rang till a fax machine tone came on. I gave up and put them on the "waste of time dealer" list. But I never order till they say an item is in stock at the price listed. Frankly, I get better results from Canadian hobby shops and better prices. Just my 2 cents.

I'd suggest you contact your bank/credit card company. As "Bones" McCoy said, "He's dead, Jim." Here's a link to his obit.

I browse that site often. Glad to hear about its shortcomings, before I placed an order. Really too bad, as they have a decent selection and prices to match.
