Newbie to this department, are there any shows in the New York or Philly region?

Gas prices being what they are....

I don't know about Philly, but model shows in the immediate NYC area are tough because the venues are so expensive. There's a show in Long Island every April. There's a show in Jersey - Mosquitocon - usually in April or May each year that is excellent. AMPS East is in September each year in Stratford, CT.

Wow, Mosquitocon is just down the road from me! Thanks. But now I'll have to wait 10 months....

There are also 2 shows in November in Freeport Long Island, I believe a general model show the second weekend and the Long Island Figure Show the third weekend. This has a few plastic classes as well. In late April or early May Miniature Figure Collectors of America do their show in Wilmingotn DE. Here's a link to AMPS East coming up in September.

Yeah, Fred's music tastes are a bit, er, individual. But he has a good supply of paints, etc.

Wish somebody would carry MIG products.

Well Bill, if you call yourself a treadhead, you HAVE to come to AMPSEast 2008 on September 27th! www.ampseast.org
It's only a 90 minute drive and maybe you Jersey guys could carpool.

Treadhead? LOL, haven't heard that one before.

Am actually thinking of entering something in AMPSEast if done in time.

Carpooling could work.

We should have an Armorama meet & greet!

I can arrange that! I'm the AMPSEast ringleader.
Anybody else want to meet up at AMPSEast and put faces to names?

Fred and I have the same taste in music.
Must be something that goes with old and fat!

I'll be at AMPSEAST... easy to spot, just look for old and fat guy wearing an Armorama shirt with Grumpyoldman on it, annoying everyone especially Tom.

Only if it's still mooing....

Few prime rib places I've been to know how to cook the meat. Took me three tries the other week to get my steak medium-rare....

But this event is on my calendar.

SENILE for sure, Matt, now I'll have to look for a Tom to annoy also.
We'll be doing the award routine again also.

Tom Jentz will be there and he's LOADS of fun to annoy!
Thanks for the award!
In case you guys don't know, Armorama sponsors a "Best" award at AMPSEast each year.
What's it going to be this year, Dave?

I think I will continue the tradition, and go for the "Best Sherman". Anything built on, or using a Sherman chassis is eligible.
And as usual, I'd appreciate those the know more about the Sherman than I do (and that's just about 99% of those attending AMPSEAST) to do the judging.

If I wear my Sherman's B-B-Q Tour of the South t-shirt, could I qualify?
