I don't have a real favorite. I've enjoyed kits from most of the big boys like Dragon, Tamiya, Trumpeter, Italeri, AFV, and Revell. I'm not a rivet counter so if it looks like a tank, then it must be a tank. All of these mgfs. have put out great kits as well as poor ones. But for me the fun of the build and the subject matter are the most important aspects.

There is so many to choose from
I'd have to say Dragon for now as I've got more of them than anything else but all the other companies seem to be making some real strides in their molding process so .....
There is to many to type really so I'll say everyone as long as my money lasts

Most of my recent buys, would be mostly Dragon and Tristar .... where Tristar kits would be bought first, when they have the same issues. An occasional AFV Club and trumpeter completes the list.
For figures, mainly Dragon Gen II, Tristar, Miniart and Alpine. Hornet heads when possible.

Tamiya. Mainly its cause its what I started in when I was 12. They are like a comfy pair of shoes. I love building their stuff especially after tackling a Dragon kit and the instructions that go with them.

hmmm to pick a favorite..............I have many more Dragon kits in my stash than anything else, but I have to agree with Rockfall in that the Tamiya kits just fall together, you here people say just add glue and shake the box

Roden, because of their subject choices. With Eduard a close second.
And for old timer kits, Matchbox- what i started with.

Any guesses what my favorite manufacturer is?

I think I'm partial to Tamiya mainly because that is who I grew up buying. Dragon has me pretty impressed and I'm anxious to build one of Trumpeters tank transporter kits. So, my mind might change by the end of the year.

Its a toss-up....Tamiya & Dragon, (armor & vehicles) . Verlinden & Warriors,(figures). However, I am starting to spread my wings a bit, and have picked up some Trumpter kits and Dragon figures. I Like what these manufacturers have to offer, (quality & assortment).

1. Tamiya
2. Hasegawa
But I have to admit, Revell which used to be a horror back in the 70ies is doing some real nice stuff lately (Eurofighter, Rafale)

I grew up on Tamiya (long, long, long before there was a Dragon, or AFV Club or Trumpeter, etc.) so that is the brand I am accustomed to. I like how they go together, the instructions, even the box art. I can appreciate the excrutiating detail available on newer kits from other manufacturers but the Tamiya kits build faster (meaning my odds of finishing are an order-of-magnitude higher) and they still look like what they are supposed to look like when I'm done. That's what I'm looking for.

Wow! I had forgotten about Roden! I have some superb WWI aircraft in my stash from them! Another aircraft fav is Haswega (sp?).
I never understood the passion over Blue Max other than interesting subjects. The limited production runs seemed more a sales gimmick than anything. Their parts always seemed to fit together poorly and had more flash than any resin kit I had ever seen. I guess there is a degree of pride in creating a jewel from what they give you.
For AFVs I like Dragon/DML for quality and detail and the extra value. Tamiya I like for their broad range of subjects and availability. I haven't built any AFV, Hobby Boss, Alan, or many of the others although they are represented in my stash.
I tend to avoid Revell, Monogram, and the mass marketed brands because of fitment issues with parts. My biggest disappointment to date was the 1/48 B-29 Super Fortress where each fuselage half was so wavy they looked like incoming and outgoing tides. In places it was higher than the thickness of the plastic. Overall, the level of detail be it cars, airplanes, or what-have-you is totally unpedictable.

I totally forgot about bluemax kits , not really on my list , but they do need that little extra attention to turn them into gems .

Hmm, my favorite maker would have to be the one that makes the kit that I am currently working on at any one time. I like 'em all.

Hi
I love Tamiya's Armour so easy very few problems. But there figures are no competion to the latest Dragon figures .
If I need to change heads for facial expressions then I use Hornet.
But am being drawn to Hobby Fan , Trumpeter, miniart & MB as there choice of subjects are so different from the larger companies.
