My gratitude to all that took part in this historic landing on the Normandy coast, 1944.

My thoughts and prayers are with the surviving veterans today.

Regards,
Chas

I didn't see this thread yesterday.....Dito to what others have said before.

I just want to add that I was extremely saddend by the fact that few people seemed to know of the annivesary! There was no major media coverage with the exception of Fox news and nothing in the local papers. Google had a tribute to the painter Diego Vasquez on the title page where they change the logo for special occasions and nothing on D-Day! $100 bucks says you can find "D-Day" easier in a book than you can "Diego Vasquez!"

I am afraid that the valliant sacrifices made on that day will soon be forgotten

Just getting around to this thread,

I echo Chas' statement:
"My gratitude to all that took part in this historic landing on the Normandy coast, 1944.

My thoughts and prayers are with the surviving veterans today."

Was a rather quite D-Day remembrance here, even on the local news, but was surprised that they stated that each day approximately 1800 WW2 veterans pass away. ( They did not say if that figure was just US or Allied, or All, but it's an amazing figure.)
