Hey all.

Stumbled across this site and decided to join. I haven't built a model since I was a kid and after looking at some of the models on this site I guess I didn't really build it as much as slapped it together.

I'm planning on building all the vehicles I was assigned to and giving to my son to show him what his ol' dad did.
Now let me put on my water wings and can someone direct me to the kiddie pool?

I'm gonna start with either a M110A2 or a M548

Hey all thanks for the welcome.

I was Reserves and Guard most of my time. I missed the Regular Army ASVAB by 1 point because I dropped out of school and the recruiter told me to go Guard and after my tour I could go RA so nearing the end of my enlistment I got deployed to Desert Shield/Storm. when I got back I found out the Army quit doing that program and if I wanted to go RA I would have to redo basic.

My unit converted over to MLRS's and I remember hearing a Oklahoma Guard MLRS that was just to the east of us almost got "overrun" by several BMP's and a T-72, they just popped out of a wadi like 4 k from them and this MLRS battery commander was screaming he was being overrun..turns out they surrendered (the Iraqis) but for a little while it was a pucker factor of 9.5

So I wanted no part of something that couldn't direct fire. My brother in law was in a Abrams unit and talked me into that.. first trip out broke 2 torsion bars..that should have told me something.
4 years later went back to arty in a Paladin unit being I wasn't MOS qualified they had me be jack of all trades till a school slot opened. FDC, TOC, 548, Hemett Tanker,Fist-V.

Welcome Iron,

This is a great site. Help is just a click away if you ever need it.

Be sure to check out the campaigns. They are usually a lot of fun to participate in.
