I've seen a thread very cool studio shots, but as I can't find it anywhere, here's mine.

I do all my art at this table then when I get the chance it becomes my model-making table.

A very small stash of models. I've only just started modeling. I used to buy them purely for references for my art. This meant I bought them and quickly assembled them with no painting or prep as I just needed them for lighting references. Anyway, I discovered this site and am now on my second 'real' model build

Some of my ref books and WW2 memoirs.

My USAAF bomber crew head gear; all original pieces. The inert .50 rounds are from the crash site of an 8th Air Force B-17. In 2003 I met the ball and waist turret gunners who bailed out of their damaged ship which crashed in Belgium; their son gave me this as a gift. I also have a silk escape map.

A few momentos above my PC. The P-39 painting to the top right is one I painted based on actual events. There are some original wartime photos including a P-47 which was hung on the wall of the factory that turned them out; still in its 1940s frame. My B-17 flight certificate and the toucan bird painting is one of my acrylic creations.......Well, it's aviation art of a sort, isn't it? ....lol

Nice stash! The German halftrack pulling the '88 looks like an exciting build.

As a side note, I live in France and some guy down at the local bar mentioned an old German halftrack not far away. Needless to say, full of excitment I had a friend drive me to the spot immediately after the bar, and there, one track broken and the cab crushed by a falling tree, was a German halftrack!

Didn't have my camera with me but will get some shots soon.

Alex, tell us about your P-39 painting, what events were they based on?

Some nice work areas, thanks for sharing:)

Chas, here is the pice I wrote for the P-39 painting.

''12th April, 1943. 41st Fighter Squadron / 35th Fighter Group.

As a tropical storm approaches overhead, a 41st FS / 35th FG
P-39D flown by, Lt. Lloyd ‘Yogi’ Rosser, lifts from her airstrip at
Port Moresby, New Guinea, to intercept a formation of Japanese
‘Betty’ bombers reported to be in the area.

This day the 35th Fighter Group were credited with the destruction
of 12 of the 28 enemy aircraft destroyed. Lt. Rosser claimed one
‘Betty’ in this particular P-39D (41-35806).''

Very interesting story.

From the small photo, it looks like a very good job done on the painting, can we possibly see an enlargement?

Chas, if you go the art section of my website (in link below), then the P.T.O. section, there's an image. Click on that and it will enlarge.

Thanks for looking
