Howdy...I'm new.

Can anyone tell me how to cut and dress sections of hypodermic tubing (needles) for gun barells?
Dremel?

Thanks

Good idea to use a dremel or Minimecca makes small tubing in various sizes.
cut easy and clean up with a file.
Welcome aboard also

Thanks for the welcome Jeff.

Ah yes...the dremel it is.

I cut the tubing a bit overlong with a pair of wirecutters which will compress the ends.
I chucked a cut off wheel, held the tubing lightly with a small vise grip and touched the tube ends to the wheel....getting a nice 90 degree angle........reamed the ends with the appropriate micro-drill in a pin vise.
Then, with a 600 grit sanding strip, polish the faces and polish any burrs on the edges. Done very quickly and with good results.

Woo hoo.

Something I just thought of - to avoid crushing in vice/pliers, maybe insert a bit of wire as a wall-stiffener...?

Wink,

Thanks....
I was a bit worried about that issue but turns out not to be a problem as long as you hold the tube lightly between the teeth, just enough to prevent the tube from rotating when the grinder is touching.
I could cut the tube with the cut off wheel as well....but I'm lazy.

The tubing is stainless steel and very tough. I buy it in 12" sections.

Try heating a scalpal with a lighter than hot cut the tubing. Works great with no compression.
