Don't you work for the state? Tell 'em to bugger off.
We'll miss you seeing you, Dave.

I'm already going to Noreastcon out in cow country and can't switch now.
Does MFCA have military vehicle categories?
Are there armor vendors there?
Do a lot of treadheads go?
I read the website but what's the Armorama verdict?

As with other figure oriented shows, there is an "Ordnance" division where armored vehicles and artillery wiould be judged. Any figures here are disregard, IIRC. There are a few regular plastic vendors, but most have more vintage wares.
Unlike what we're used to in the plastic world, it is the norm to identify yourself as the builder of ypour disp[lay, partly because there are always collectors there who would be interested in buying pieces from known painters. As with AMPS events, judging is open style with painters (unmodified figures) and open classes (modified or presented as a diorama.) It's not unusual to see the models that were used as box art and to hob nob with the sculptors themselves.
The quality of the figures present is on a par with a national modelling event and typically a number of Europeans attend. Hopefully, withthe strong Euro, they will have a strong showing.
And, oh, yeah, there's the free hospitality suite for into the night socializing on Friday and Saturday.
