Hi Theo

I served in 2SSB (part of 3Mech BN GP on the border) in 1982-83, and as such the link shown pretty much sums up what you are asking. The only other things I do remember was that the louvers over the rear engine intake where slightly different to the stock, but am unsure how... too long ago.

Cheers

Oh well what mark of Eland. The Mk 7 is longer, new powerpack on a slide out quick remove rail. New engine deck and rear louvres. Some other internal changes on the gunnery system and stowage.

Hello Theo i am a new kid on the block but many years ago i used to build the Eland. The biggest difference was the power pack which was changed from the panhard ex France which was air cooled to the water cooled ex old Ranger / Opel 2.5 lt motor which then changed the rear louvre making it much higher. The balance of the unit stayed pretty much the same.

Other changes.
The engine sump was deeper so that it could hold more oil .
New type compressor and hub dog clutch to engage the compressor.
Large radiator and oil coolers.
hoped i helped a bit if i remember more i will let you know

Cheers

Leonel,

Sorry, live in the Netherlands,so telephone would a litlle bit expensive.

To make clear what I want to do is the following.
I have a 1/87 scale model of a AML90 and want to make from this a Eland.
First i thought that it would easy, some minor details an ready.
But now I hear the differences you and the others mentioned I want to do this,a Eland in the last known conversion, which is that and which outside differences are there.

regards
Theo

Theo,

I have detial walkarounds of both the outside and inside of the Mk7 Eland 60 and Eland 90. I took them two years ago at the school of armour in Bloemfontein. I can help just PM and we can discuss.

Regards
