It's never a bad idea to show the judges and spectators how you go to your end product.

On this side of thepond, the only event you need to have any type of club membership to participate is the IPMS/USA nationals which require IPMS membership. Give a quick call or e-mail to the organizers for the definitive answer, though.

If it's like the shows I attend, bring money for the vendors. Don't be afraid to approach others. Feel free to ask how people achieved an effect you like. Don't spend too much time, no matter how tempting, around your own stuff.

Hi Steve,if you are entering a figure at the Hinckley show, you don't have to be a member of any club, these are open comps that we run.As to showing how the figure was sculpted, its not necessary to show progress pictures, don't forget to state on the entry form that its scratch built as the comp entry guys may not know anything about a particular model,(thats down to the judges)but its always interesting to see how something was made.Enjoy the show and good luck with your entry.

All over the place Steve, busy busy busy.As a member of the club thats putting on the show its a hectic day.The club stand is to your right as you enter the main hall from the leisure centre reception,so you may catch me there catching a breather,I'm sweating now just thinking about the work involved with the show.I'll probably be on the comp entry registration desk for most of the morning, and all club members will be tagged(not in the criminal sense haha!).Have you got far to travel?
