So while this isn't your more traditional armor, it can be easily argued that this big iron tank played an important role in the American Civil War.
Heres a 1/25 built model of a 4-4-0 "General" steam locomotive with tender. The General was a confederate train stolen by Union spies. It was chased by another engine backwards until the General finally ran out of fuel and was recaptured. This is a sharp looking engine and a nice display piece. 
Included is a wall mountable wooden mantel base. Take a look:
