Hi Folks:

I am moving to northern NJ, probably between Parsippany and Clark. Maybe just west of Clark. Any good hobby shops in this area of NJ?

I live in Parsippany.
Got a few around me.
F&M about 3-5 miles away in Denville, Kenville Hobbies up the road about 10 miles west in guess---- Kenville, Hobby Hut about10 miles east in Totowa. All good for kits and supplies. Slim on after market.
Closer to Clark you have Maplewood Hobbies, a little farther south east you have Hobby Masters. NJIPMS meets in Garwood, a few towns away form Clark.

Sounds interesting. Is the club small, large...? Are the shows in the area any good?

The NJIPMS show is this week end, so look for a photo report of it here.
I won't be able to spend the entire day, but will swing over for a few hours probably in the morning, and leave about noon.
The NJIPMS club is a bunch of really great guys.
Don't look for me there though......
They meet on a night I have to work.

NJIPMS puts on an annual show, "Mosquitocon" that is very good. April 5 this year if I am not mistaken.

AMPS Connecticut hosts an annual "AMPS East" just up the road a piece in Danbury Connecticut each September. Also very fun, and it's all tank, all the time.

IPMS-NENY is hosting the IPMS regional "Noreastcon" the last weekend in April. This year it is in Schoharie, NY. Middle of nowhere....I know because I live fairly close by But it is an extremely well-run show when this chapter hosts.

Of course you will not be all that far from the US Army Ordnance Museum in Aberdeen, Maryland either. Only three states away, and east-coast states are small.

Welcome to the east coast dude !

Yep another one, about 35-40 miles east of good old Parsippany.
And you'll even get to visit my old collection.

Thanks folks. I am originally from Pittsburgh, and I spent my early twenties in CT. I used to visit NYC all the time. But that was 20 yrs ago. I might be able to attend that show at the end of April, but just to see. I will not have my stuff for months, probably. I probably will find good homes for some of my built models. We shall see.

Also Avenel Hobbies on Route 35 in Woodbridge. Good stock of after market and kits and much closer to your new location then Hobby Masters. Its my regular LHS I live a few blocks from it.

NJIPMS is a good club I used to be a member but work schedule makes it tough was president of it many years ago.

Bad NJ drivers usually moved here from New York. Just remember 65 really means 75. There is no such thing as Yield and "No Guts No Glory"

Right we did.

Watch out doing anything outside the car as to a Jersey Driver that makes you a Legal Bullseye in their eyes anyway.
