Hi all,

Just started on my 1/48 F-16D which will be built as a Block 52+ bird with the Hellenic Air Force. Finished up the cockpit and glued the fuselage halves together.

Base kit is Hasegawa. Wolfpack Designs block 52+ conversion and Royale Resin F-16 nose and antennae.

Hopefully can get this done for the Airfix Cup.

Pictures below.

It's actually OOP but if you're really lucky, you can find one for under S$50. Got this from a friend who was selling his whole stash as he was going overseas for studies.

Update.

Started the decaling. Have the national insignia and some of the upper fuselage sencils done. The IFR guide markings aren't exactly correct but I can't find gunship grey ones.

In case you're wondering, decals are Zotz for the Hellenic Air Force specific markings and the rest will be from the kit. Pictures follow.

Did a wash with oils. Panel lines are much more defined now. Weapons have all been painted.

Loadout will be:
1x AN/AAQ-13 LANTIRN Nav Pod
1x AN/AAQ-14 LANTIRN Targeting Pod
2x GBU-10 Paveway II
2x AIM-120C AMRAAM
2x IRIS-T
2x 370 gallon wing tanks
1x 300 gallon centre-line tank

Photos after the wash.

And here she is with my other WIP, the Arctic Aggressor.

Mark, your plane is coming alive and looking good
One questions, did you air brush the interior of the plane or use paint brush it?

Refering to the picture, did you gloss the entire plane as well to apply decal ?
The wheels looks shiny

Hi Mike,

Interior? If you're referring to the cockpit, it was airbrushed the base colour (light ghost grey) and then the panels were painted with black. It was then dry-brushed with light grey/silver to bring out the details.

If you're referring to the landing gear wells, they were airbrushed after the paint-scheme was applied.

And yes, the plane was glossed before application of the decals. This is to ensure that there is a flat surface for the decals to sit on and eliminate the "silvering" effect.
