Hi Matt,

What sort of ideas are you looking for. Is it going to be a book on any certain time-period or theatre of service? Have you written before?

Regards,
Chas

hello Matt,
what type of stories are you looking for?the "I was there type",the unit history type,or the Veteran type.also are you looking for WW2,where i live there is a large population of retired military who might help you.you might want to see if around where you live there is a military retirement home or what we have here a forign legion hall.they might help you get in touch with the people you are looking for.
hopes this helps.
cheers,
Bruce

Try looking up the USMC Raiders. There are a ton of sources that I am aware of. The records in the US are released to the public. And several memoirs are out there. They did a hell of a job in the Pacific during its early stages.

hello Matt,
you can also try for info about Royal Marine Commando's, or the Long Range Desert Group.the is some Government info out about them.you also might want to check out this book:
Encyclopedia of Elite Forces in the Second World War.
by Michael E. Haskew.
published by Amber Books Ltd. in 2007.
it is a good book with some mistakes in it ,but over all very good book it covers all Elite forces used by both sides.this might be a good starting place.
hope this helps.
cheers,
Bruce
