Hmmm Actually a pitty.
He was not really well known in Holland untill the program American Hotrod was broadcasted on Discovery europe/Holland And I actually quite enjoyed the show. Even though they rerunned it already a Gazzilion times. He designed some pretty good cars. Pitty that has come to an end.
Very sad.

His wiki bio says that he had been in the hospital for a while after the holidays after a fall and was rushed back in recently. Still strange as to the lack of a COD.

I’m sadden to hear the news of his death, I was a big fan of Boyd, his cars and show. I never did get to meet Boyd in person but did get to see some of his cars at Hot Rod shows over the years. Boyd took a chance on a young man by the name of Charlie who he apprenticed and trained over the years. Charlie made it shop foreman and out of the blue Charlie informed Boyd that he was moving on and working for a competitive Hot Rod car builder. Boyd and his wife Jo were devastated in hearing this news…
Boyd also had a line of scale modeling and die-cast products out, there were some cars and Testors had a line of Boyd’s paints in many great colors, candies and pearls.
Boyd in his familiar Hawaiian shirts will be missed…god speed.
It feels like bible camp…Only I’m not crying pretending I’m somewhere else.
Happy Modeling
Joe
