Nice Hi-Power. I'll trade you for a M9 Beretta.

I am active duty in the Army National Guard. I hate the M9 Beretta. I would take a Hi-Power any day over the M9.

My preference is the M1911 however.

What were you doing in New Mexico? Training? Just curious...

That's the first time i've heard negative remarks on the Beretta. What is it that you don't like?

The main issue I have with the Browning is old mags with weak springs, not really the guns fault.

Were in Camp Dona Ana for pre-deployment training to Afghanistan.

How old is that isued High Power - is it an "inglish" ?

I remember someting about the old wwII vintage HP only being capable of shooting about 5000 rounds before going in for service ?

Anyway - I won“t trade my Glock34 for either the HP or the M9

The dislike of the firearm comes mostly from personal preference. Functionally, it is a good weapon. We (the US Army) had some problems in OIF 1 with faulty magazines but that has been overcome.

The Beretta doesn't feel as "natural" in my hands as the Hi-Power does. Overall, the Hi-Power fits my hands better and I shoot more accurately with it.

I don't like 9mm as a defense round either. Just isn't enough stopping power/penetration with standard issue US Army ball ammunition. For a man stopper, I prefer .40 or .45 cal. Ammunition magazine capacity isn't an issue for me. Soldiers properly trained and proficient in a magazine change can overcome the capacity issue.
