Say, how many of you armor nuts are excited as I am on this release?

Rest assured, mirrors will be cut for this kit, and probably decals as well. The question is, how much different is the kit from our own localised version? Can anyone who's "in-the-know" give us some clues?

Bro, if I know the answer I won't be asking posting the question in the first place already.
Hopefully it's a straight model suitable for our SAF, but I wouldn't bet on it. Our older AMX-13 has changed it's name to SM1 due to modifications...

Sorry Erize, it's been a while.

But this kit is finally in town... Got mine right next to me! Don't be fooled by the usual irkish "toy-soldier" deep green plastic. From first glance the parts looked crisp and some details quite fine... Haven't start it yet but can't wait to! Hope the build is as good as it looks.

The tie down straps on the tarp is one area which I think that needs refinement - they kind of looked "clunky" and doesn't quite capture the soft feel of straps. That's just one small nit-pick from a detail freak like me.

As to whether SAF uses this exact version? - me donch knoe! Hope they do, that way we can finally slap some "ugly" and faded Temasek green that we're so accustomed too.

But for now, I think I'm gamed for NATO tricolors - it will look good right next to the completed Bundeswehr Leopard 2s (a la Tamiya Leo2A6 box art!)...

Cheers,

Lawrence

Heya Vince and Erize,

Two locations you can head to, Vivo or Marina Sq, I leave it to you to guess what store... (Shouldn't be too hard). But do call and check for stock first, not sure if they brought in a lot.

Vince, the tarp is separated - you can go either Tarped or "U" frame.

Good luck getting yours!

Hi guys,

Just in case you're wondering what's out there for this lovely kit. I've just recently released window masks:
http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/~kriegsketten/D356048.htm

Hope it will save you much time, and will last more than one kit if you do use it properly.

And highly reflective mirrors (more than 1 kit):

I've build my kit - the fit's lovely and the parts are sharply molded. Detailed enough for a good OOTB, unless you're REALLY picky that is LOL.

Cheers!

Lawrence
