Not exactly close, but in Lowestoft there's the main branch of Hannant's, which for many people is pretty much the biggest and best in the country. Also SBX a little way down the coast in Ipswich. Since Lakenheath is a bit stuck out in the middle of not very much, you'll need personal transport anyway if you're spending any time there, so they shouldn't be too hard to reach.

Also Adnam's Sole Bay Brewery in Southwold, if you can stand the rarefied atmosphere from all the yummy mummy types spending the weekend there with little Tarquin and Jocasta. (Sorry - the old class warrior coming back to the surface there for a moment...)

If you go to Building 906 on the base which is the Arts and Craft Center they are now starting to stock models again and currently have Hobbyboss, Hasegawa, Airfix, Italeri and Vallejo paints in stock. They should be able to order most other ranges you need as well.
