I am currently working on a 1/35th Dragon Sherman Firefly Mk 1 Hybrid. I want to know if the 6th Armoured Div used Mk 1 Hybrids and can anyone supply me with details of colours and markings, if so. Or supply a link to a website...
Thanks
Tony

Tony,
Good to meet you the other day.
I know the armour museum has a firefly or 2, but were'nt the Union army issued with Comets? As far as I know Firefly's were in short supply and thus the 17pnd'er Comet, was it the Challenger (?), were issued in the firefly's stead...
Of course you're probably finish building the kit by know....

Hi Rudi,
Indeed, a great pleasure to meet you the other day and put a face to a name. To paraphrase some famous bard, "we small band of brothers..."
Anyway, I thought, and have vague recollections that 6th Armoured Div used Fireflys in the Italian Campaign, hence the question. Possibly an old copy of Military Modelling or some publication from the War Museum in Saxonwold was the source of this idea and I've hels off on the model until I have a definite idea where I'm going.
