I recently acquired a Gunze Sangyo kit off of ebay. I have been wanting one for years. Its a Pzkpfw III J and it comes with 2 beautifully turned
barrels. The only problem is the barrels have to be drilled out according to the instructions. What the hell? Is that what they were doing in the 80's? I realize I can buy after market but I have already spent 75 bucks w/ shipping on this kit. According to the instructions they have to be drilled out 1.5mm(they are brass) any suggestions? I hate to waste them they are really nice.

The best way to drill them out would be to chuck them in a lathe with a good steady/support post and use the lathe to drill them out with the drill chucked in the tail stock.

If you have somebody you know with a Sherline or any other type of mini-lathe, you could be set if you ask them nicely.

Alternatively, look for somebody on the forum with a lathe which may be open to doing you a 'favor' and ask them nicely.
