Just interested to know how people protect natural plant material from bugs and insects. I have made a few dioramas which contain preserved and painted moss, but I can't see how that could protect the plant against insects.

How do people deal with it, do you spray your dios with insect repellent, flyspray, surface spray?

Hi Chas! I don't think the dried moss is too appealing as food to insects but maybe as home it looks kinda prime. The cobwebs appear where the spider food is so I'm guessing the dios are just being habitats for the bug world. I would'nt spray or coat the dios themselves but probably try a general room application repellant spray or traps. Looks like your in the tropics where bug life is big so this could be a continuos struggle for supremacy. A clear acrylic cover could help discourage them too.
Cheers!
