Does anyone know where to get figures from Vietnam with t shirts , no shirts with possible j -- hats in NZ?

Vietnam era figures have been pretty thin on the ground recently, as far as new releases go.

I'm going out on a limb here and guessing 1/35th scale figures are what you're after - Dragon have a number of sets of US figures, but the last release of anything from this era by the Big D was a few years ago.

Dragon Nam era figures vary in quality, but the later releases are acceptable - also, as the design of US uniforms was pretty standard, figures intended for ERDL (4 pocket jackets) camo can go to OD and vice versa.

If you're looking for Kiwis, Aussies or anything else, you're pretty much stuffed in plastic - there are resin Aussie/Kiwi figures available from FireStorm Models.

The only Nam figures I can recall seeing wearing a t-shirt would be the old oversized Verlinden figures and Ara Miniatures did a walking GI with a short brim boonie hat, t-shirt and bandoleers (a good late war figure), but that's about it.

Cheers for the info my next grand question is my scale is 1/35 what scale is this in train modeling terms as I need some corrigated iron for this job?

Get y'self down to your local craft shop (or even the Warehouse)

Have a look out for packs of corrugated paper.

I found a pack of six sheets (in the papercraft aisle) for about two bucks at the Red Shed - the paper/card consists of one corrugated sheet lightly attached to a piece of plain paper; just carefully separate the one from the other and you 'll have more than enough corrugated iron, unless you're planning on building a 1/35th scale shearing shed in which case two packs would do it.

When I get back to the Casa d'Acav, I'll see if I can find the stuff and will try and post a pic.

Went to the Big Red Shed and I think I found the stuff you were talking about and it does look the part. thanks for the tip saved me heaps of trouble.

have a look at Hobby Fan, company out of Taiwan. Probably not excatly what you are looking for. They do have a large selection of Vietnam US Troops. Verlinden also do a few about half with t Shirts.
