It's been more than two weeks(19 days) off the bench ...so I decided that I should --"Get on with it"-- and *extractimus digitmus*......so scalpel ,glue, drawing sand plastic set out on clear bench and ----- ----
Yep *Buidlers Block*
Scapped off 3 sheets of styrene just trying to get "into it" ...so had a couple of drams --slept on it and started again --on third file I pulled out this ...BBC....fell out so here we go on another

Barv -

As always, I am in awe!

I notice that this build is on a platform similar to others you have built (Russian???) Are you working from drawings that you have created........or using a known base vehicle (from a previous project) and scaling the pieces-parts to the known dimensions of the base?

By the way, I really liked you essay diferentiating between assembling models others have created and truly creating your own models.

I am clearly going to have to work through many kits and scratch-build a lot of details before I am ready to try a full project. On the other hand, I am eager to learn the skills. I have my sites on building a 1/35 model of the Holt 5 ton artillery tractor of WW I fame. I think it will go nicely with an inter-war GPF 155mm in U. S. Marine service.

Lead on.....I'm trying to follow.

Thanks,
Dave

Base is similar to the other 2 'Beasties' I have done --BAT-3 and MDK-3.....T 64 stretched running gear
Found its designation and a bit of information .......

(Quote)
The KGS-25 self-propelled crane based on a high-speed tracked chassis is a unique vehicle in its class. The crane has an excellent cross-country ability and is able to operate both on ice and unbroken snow ground in the trans-polar regions and on quick-sands of deserts. The crane is intended to carry out loading/unloading, civil engineering and installation work as well as emergency restoration work. The crane can also be used when carrying out prospecting and development of oil and gas fields located in the areas that are difficult of access for wheeled vehicles as well as when there is a need for long distance travels between places of work.
The telescopic boom makes it possible to lift objects of up to 25 t to a height of up to 10 m. The height of lifting can be further increased up to 40 m in case the auxiliary equipment is used.

The crane can be delivered to its regular workplace or to places of work located at remote areas either under its own power or by being transported by any other vehicle transportation means. The crane has no equals in moving cross-country, however, it can also move on asphalt roads by using tracks with removable rubber pads.....(unquote)

Hope it helps

Hi there Steve

This looks great,,,,,,,,As usual! Going by your build rate I will be expecting to see this completed at Perth. Whereas my fingers will still be smarting from the constant singeing trying to get my first hydraulic arm perfected,,,,,,,Teehee.

I like the way your builds seem to grow straight away out of a flat surface to grow arms, legs and all manner of testi,,,,,,,,,,,,tenticl,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,well these big beasts certainly have big balls!!!

Great build

Hey SC

One Pound forty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's cheap. Is that the price you are selling the model at or is it the price of your DVD on how to build?

Your selling your work short!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know if you will be doing sit down shows of how to this year at Perth again. I am bringing my own comfy soffa, buns and coffee!!!

The beam on that beast is huge (and functional as expected) - very cool.

Don't really like the orange paint on the one photos - that's just me.

Not to go back wards but did you post a fully painted photo of your last road maker?

More updates - too good. Do you use any special tools to sand down the edges, or just some sandpaper?

Looking good.
