my squadron green putty cap doesnt want to stay on no matter how good i clean it. Any ideas on how else, or where/and how i can store my green putty?

A double or triple layer of "saran wrap" laid over the tube's opening....then twist on the top. Should work as I've used this for a variety of wood glues.
