Here’s the deal, in my zeal to get going on one of the new kits I got for the holiday’s, like and idiot I super glued a piece without first dry fitting it. Now as you’ve guessed, I’m not 100% happy with the fit.

Is there any way to safely dissolve the Super Glues bond without marring or otherwise damaging the kit’s plastic parts? If not, I’ll chalk it up to a “live and learn” experience – really it’s a fairly minor problem…

Thanks,
Noah

Superglue Debonder works wonders.
Should be able to pick some up at the LHS or craft store.

Acetone (finger nail polish remover) will work as a debonder for most CA's
If you don't have Debonder.. funny 'cause they smell the same too....

Thanks for the replies, excellent news – never thought the solution could be as simple as nail polish remover.

Acetone may play hell with plastic!!
If it is plastic and not PE or some other exotic material test the acetone one some sprue first or you may end up with a melted blob.

Yeah I did forget about that... Some plastics can get Slimy from it... but I've had the Debonder do the same thing

CA has very little shear strength. Depending on the part and how it's attached, you may be able to pry the part off with a sharp #11.
