All of the instructions and packaging say printed in Germany but it appears that "China" in "made in China" has been obscured by the manufacturer.

The origin of the Matchbox Spitfire was Matchbox Revell picked up the moulds, and have re-released it (along with the 1/32nd Sea Venom as well!)
I'm halfway through building an F.22/F.24 Spitfire - for its age, a pretty good kit!

Matchbox diecast, and plastic, kits were produced by Lesney Products, but they went bust around 25 years ago. Revell had an agreement, to produce some of the plastic kits, over a fixed period, but this seems to have been extended, many times. There are still some kits which have never been done, since the demise of Lesney, a 1/48th Fury (North American) and Skyraider come to mind.

I got this kit as well but I lost the transparencies,I sent off for replacements over three months ago .Following the procedure on the box ,now I've got the kit with no instructuions and no transparencies.I noticed though that the canopy is an odd shape compared to drawings and photo's so I made a plug for a new canopy.I'll get round to building it yet.I built it first time round cost me £3.50.My daughter got me the Venom for Xmas.Oh happy days.
