I'm looking for a source for 1/35 scale plastic screening. 8"x11" sheets would be nice, but smaller would do.
Thank you.

Brass screening can be found at plumbing supply houses. Plastic screening can be found at fabric stores or craft shops. Both are available in various sized mesh. Also look at filtering medium used in air purifiers. Some use a fine plastic mesh pre-screen.
Keep an eye on the packaging of products you use. I found a really great source of fine (plastic) mesh that was a 'holder' for a doll accessory my grand daughter had. Couple careful cuts along the seam and it opened up into a sheet about ten inches square. It now resides in my supplies stash.

I believe they still do.
Acustion and Studio27 both sell various mesh styles and sizes in photo etch form, you can source them from hlj.com or mediamixhobby.com.sg

Sounds like a perfect time to buy a photo-etch kit and learn how your printer can help you out! I've received "samples" from window showrooms that I've used to replace the stock Tamiya screens that come with some of their tanks. I've received some good advice in the past from people who work at e-fab, http://e-fab.com/.
I also like using walkway gratings, you can find some here:
